February 23, 1918 – February 26, 2010 In Loving Memory.
Russell Blanchard Blackman, 92, a native and longtime resident of Portland, Michigan died Friday, February 26, 2010.
Mr. Blackman was a retired Rural Mail Carrier and was a life member of VFW Post 4090 in Portland and had been a member of the Portland volunteer fire department. He was an Army Veteran of WWII, serving in the Middle East. He was a resident of Catherine Place in Daphne for the past 8 years.
Survivors include two sons, Robbin R. (Caroline) Blackman of Daphne and Michael J. Blackman of Naples, FL; three granddaughters, Lynette (Al) Holk, Deborah Blackman and Kelly (Neil) Bentley and three great-grandsons, Shaun Offerosky, Colin Bentley and Ryan Bentley.
He will be buried with his wife Dorothy, who died September 23, 2007, later this spring in Portland.
