Damn it Pug, we’ll miss you.
I will miss your contagious laugh and your love for our family! Coming home to Alabama just wont be the same without a visit to see my favorite Uncle. You will be missed…until then This Buds for You!!
You will be truly missed by all of your friends and classmates
Ray was one who truly loved life. I think about him cooking shrimp in his “den”, his laugh, hugs. Will miss him so much at family events.
Pug,
You were one-of-a-kind. Thanks for the many positive influences on my life (including the Bellas Hess job)! One could not have asked for a better cousin.
Don’t let the sun catch you crying!
Danny (the good-looking cousin)
Ray, You were the brother Bill never had. You will be sorely missed.
Our sincere condolences – Pug was a lovely man. It was a pleasure to have known him. Lots of good memories of the time we spent in Tarbes and Daphne.
Ray was one of the greatest people I ever met! Everyone loved him.
Ray always made everyone feel special. He will be missed.
Ray was one of the greatest people I ever met. Everyone loved him!
Ray your name is synonymous with the Gamma Phi chapter. Your influence and chapter dedication live on to this day.You were a great fraternity brother and friend.
Our deepest sympathy and condolences to the entire Hartwell family and loved ones.
Please know that we are with you all in spirit on this day of commemoration and celebration of the life of such a loved and cherished, courageous man..
Uncle Ray, you brought a lot of laughter and joy in our family. You will be dearly missed. I enjoyed our last meal together at the cabin, and I am so glad you invited us to come down. That last memory will always be special to me. Love you.
Ann and family, John and I send our deepest sympathy to all of you. Ray had such a love of life and was always so glad to see us whenever our paths crossed. Our prayers are with you and your family.
If I asked Ray for a candle so I could find my nose in the darkness, he’d provide an atomic blast to light up my life and everyone around me. He always gave me so much more than I ever thought about asking for. The lessons he gave to Scott, Bailey, Karen and I are true life lessons that have always, and will continue, to help us all everyday. I am blessed to have simply known him, but so lucky that he actually cared enough about me to try to teach me the “Right Way”. Ray, I pray that I make you proud…
My dear Ann:
Te mando mis mas sentidas concolencias por la muerte de Ray, que buenos momentos pasamos durante la reunion de MMI en abril.,
Que tengas resignacion y recibe un abrazo de nuestra familia desde Guatemala
Con mucho cariño
Jaime
Uncle Pug,
I am so sorry to have just learned of your death. You were my favorite Uncle, and I will always fondly remember being the mermaid on the bow of the Soul.
Much love,
PMS
Pug, this caught me by surprise. I didn’t know of your passing until I saw the memorial donations to Pi Kappa Phi in the “Star & Lamp”. My experiences in Pi Kappa Phi were so rewarding and remain with me to this day. I really miss all my brothers in the Gamma Phi chapter. I’ve been so out of touch. I haven’t talked to anyone for 40 years now. You were #1 – the first archon of Gamma Phi chapter.
Maybe one day, we can all be called home to celebrate your life and look to the future of our chapter!
