Mike Tortora was never afraid to say what he was really thinking. I admired that about him. They don’t make em like that anymore.

    To the Tortora family,

I just wanted to let you know how sorry I was to hear that Mike had passed.
I have worked with Mike for a short period of time and grew to enjoy his company as well as learn a great deal from him about life in general
I also wanted you to know that I have a great deal of respect for him, his knowledge and skills, his force of will and many other positive attributes.
Mike could be difficult to get along with a times, but after a while I figured out how he put up barriers so that others wouldn’t see too deeply into what was going on inside….then I understood the harsh attitude.
I was very proud of how Mike handled his last couple years…. He was strong, and I think he was that way to help his family be strong too.
In any case I wanted to know that I thought Mike was a good man and it saddens me that he is not with us anymore.
I hope that all of the mental pain you all have been and are going through now passes soon and is replaced with good memories of Mike.
All of this is a big bump in the road I know, I still think of my brother who passed away some years back, but it’s good stuff not sad.
I know all of you in time will get to that place, I am sorry that I could tell you guys this in person.

    Pam, Anthony and Jenny:
As you know just like the three of you like Mike was like family to me, Amy and Joseph. We have known each other for a long time. Mike was one of the smartest and most stubborn men I have ever known. I had known Mike for almost thirty years. He was one of my oldest and dearest friends. During that time we have lived together in several places, worked together at many companies, Played golf on numerous courses, drank together in a lot of different bars, and played in half a dozen or so different bands together. We will have to resume all of this on the other side now. While he is gone for now all the memories will never be forgotten. While death is never an easy thing I hope you got at least a little comfort knowing he is no longer suffering now and is resting in peace. . I know I did. He had been thru a lot over the last few years. I know you had to be proud of how well he handed it. I was, it made me proud to be his friend. If you know if you ever need anything all you have to do is call. We look forward to seeing you soon.

    Your friend
