Daphne, AL

Medley Bryar Curry, born May 27, 1945 in Bonne Terre, MO, a resident of Daphne, AL, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013, at his residence.

Medley grew up in Montgomery, Al. He was a member of the Robert E. Lee High School Band, the Troy State University ‘Sound of the South’ Band as well as many professional groups in the Montgomery and Mobile area.

He retired from the Alabama National Guard 151st Army Band headquartered in Montgomery and was a charter member of the Baldwin Pops Community Band where he played euphonium. His final concert with the Pops was July 4, 2013.

He retired from the Alabama Department of Transportation as a Relocation Officer and worked several years with Volkert Engineering.

Medley was a member of Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church where he was a member of the Sanctuary Choir and the Men’s Quartet.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ann Jones Curry, sons Ben (Julie) Curry and Chip (Amanda) Curry; grandchildren Shaun, Melody and Hart Curry and Dylan, Kaitlyn and Alyssa Bryant; sister Mary Stinnette (Wiley), nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated at Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church on Monday, August 26, 2013 at 11:00am. Rev. Dr. Julian Walthall and Rev. Bert Tuggle will officiate. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Music Ministry at Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church, Spanish Fort, AL.

Lynne DeVault Daphne August 24 2013 Melody was a talented musician, a wonderful friend as well as being a devout Christian.  He deeply loved and cherished his wife Ann who is an angel.  Medley loved his sons, their wives and just glowed when he talked about his grandchildren.  He will be missed by all of us who knew him .But, he will never be forgotten.
