Martha Williams Thomas, 67, a current resident of Bay Minette, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 after a sudden illness. Mrs. Thomas was born in Mississippi and lived for many years in the Belforest Community. She was a member of Liberty Church in Fairhope and had worked at Home Depot for 9 years. Martha loved to play the piano and enjoyed gardening and needlework. She was a beloved mother and grandmother.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Hadley Thomas. She is survived by her four daughters, Jo (Stephen) Vickery of Perdidio, AL, Sheryl (Jacob) Satenberg of Stanley, WI, Susanne (Chip) Kennedy of Atlanta, GA and Robin (Jeremy Gossett) Thomas of Birmingham, AL. She has a sister, Mary Jo (Earnest) Harrison of Madison, MS and four grandchildren, Hannah Vickery, Autumn Satenberg, Isabella Kennedy and Thomas Kennedy and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 3 pm at Hughes Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Klotz officiating. The family will begin receiving friends at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Martha’s name may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure (breast cancer) at komenncalabama.org.
