Marjorie A. Mullen, 82, of Fairhope died Wednesday, August 21, 2013 in Robertsdale. Mrs. Mullen was her high school class Valedictorian and graduated from the University of Mobile (Mobile College) School of Nursing with honors. She was employed with Thomas Hospital as an RN until retirement. Marjorie was of a member of D.O.E.S. in New York and helped found and organize the library at St. Lawrence Catholic Church where she was a longtime member. She enjoyed reading, travel, gardening and volunteer work.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas P. Mullen; parents, William Gray and Jessie Frances Bass Howell; son, Kevin Patrick Mullen and by a brother, James Lamar Howell.
Survivors include her daughter, Debra Mullen (Douglas P.) Mansmann; son, Brian Thomas Mullen; daughter-in-law, Linda Mullen Lawrence; six grandchildren, Jonathon J. (Stephanie) Mansmann, Jessica Jean Mansmann, Melissa L. (Collin) Haycraft, Thomas Mullen, Christine Mullen and Elizabeth Mullen Sexton; four great grandchildren, Alex, Cody, Aiden and Jean Louise; two sisters, M. Carolyn Howell Patrenos and JoAnne Howell Kerr; two brothers, Willie Frank ‘Bill’ (Jane) Howell and M. Pomroy (Barbara Jo) Howell and a sister-in-law, Cleatsie S. Howell and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Friday, August 23, 2013 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Rev. Steve Williams as celebrant. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 am. Interment will be in Belforest Catholic Cemetery.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staffs of Robertsdale Healthcare and Covenant Hospice.
