Lynn Douglas “Butchie” Foster, a 68 year resident of Daphne, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015. Butchie was born on Wednesday, May 22, 1946 in Mobile.  Butchie loved living on Mobile Bay, tending to his flower and vegetable gardens and walking on the beach.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma and Lawrence; sisters, Audrey Holladay and Patsy Box; brothers, Stewart and Hughie.

Butchie is survived by two brothers, Buddy of Lawrenceburg, IN and Buford (Sandi) of Fairhope; one sister, Shirley Bertagnolli of Huntsville; sister-in-law, Mildred Sims Foster of Daphne; brother-in-law, Ted Box of Silverhill; niece and guardian, Stephanie Middleton and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, February 10, 2015 from 5:30pm until 8:00pm at Hughes Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Memory Gardens of Fairhope with Rev. Scotty Jernigan officiating.     I have such fond memories of Butchie and the beach. I even got to play tennis with him some -25 years ago or so… He meant a lot to my dad and family. He will be missed. He and Huey were the best neighbors:)
