November 27, 1961 – January 10, 2013 In Loving Memory.
Daphne, AL
Lee Douglas Coker, Jr., 51, passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at his home in Daphne. Lee was a faithful and loving husband, father, son, brother, friend, and co-worker who will be sorely missed by his wife, five children, daughter-in-law, mother and stepfather, brother, parents-in-law, and countless other relatives and friends.
Lee was born on November 27, his father’s birthday, in 1961 in Atmore, Alabama, graduated high school from ECHS, attended Marion Military Institute and graduated college from Auburn University in 1984, the year he also married Felicia Brantley. He also earned a Master’s degree from Marshall University. Lee and Felicia were married for over 28 years and have five children. Lee was a fabulous hands-on father who loved to cuddle, hold and care for each of his babies and who considered fatherhood the greatest joy and satisfaction of his life. Lee was employed for over 28 years with the Corps of Engineers and will be remembered as an honest, dependable, and capable employee—a problem solver and a peace-maker. Lee was a natural do-it-yourselfer, handy with any tool or gadget and enjoyed immensely handling his own repair and maintenance projects, whether home, yard, or vehicle. Lee was also a giver, full of compassion, quick to see a need and always ready to make himself a useful servant. He loved his church, Grace Fellowship, and all his brothers and sisters there. He is preceded in death by his father, Lee Douglas Coker, Sr.
Surviving are his wife, Felicia Brantley Coker; three sons, Douglas Brantley Coker (Lea Shumacher), Ross Franklin Coker, Weston Lee Coker; two daughters, Abby Marie Coker, Audrey Jane Coker; his mother, Joan Coker Rounsaville, and his brother, Charles Coker.
A Celebration of Lee’s life will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at Eastern Shore Presbyterian Church, Fairhope.
The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30am. Graveside services will be private.
