Lauda Eleanor Leak Corwin, 91, died peacefully on December 31, 2012 at her residence at Westminster Village where she had lived for the past year. She had been a resident of Montgomery for the previous 62 years.
Mrs. Corwin was born on April 3, 1921 in Bay Minette, the daughter of Sidney Leon and Lauda Mixon Leak. She was a long time and devoted member of First Methodist Church in Montgomery.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Paul Charleton Corwin, Jr. in 2005.
She is survived by her three children: Gibbs Corwin Davis of Montgomery, Elizabeth Corwin McCafferty and her husband, E.L. McCafferty III of Mobile, and Paul Charleton Corwin III of Birmingham; by six grandchildren: Elizabeth Davis Limbaugh, John Walter Davis IV, Evelyn Corwin McCafferty, Caroline McCafferty Gefaell, Mary Lauda Corwin and Ann Tyler Corwin; and by seven great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Corwin Limbaugh, Virginia Hamilton Limbaugh, Jeanne Thomas Davis, Emma Catherine Davis, Robert Strange Gefaell III, Marion McCafferty Gefaell and Emit McCafferty Gefaell.
Visitation will be held at the Fellowship Hall of First Methodist Church, Montgomery at 11:00 a.m., January 11, 2013 followed by The Committal of the Ashes at 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate memorials to the Paul C. Corwin, Jr. Scholarship at the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration, University of Alabama, P.O. Box 870221, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35487. cremation Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home and Crematory, 7951 American Way, Daphne, AL.
