In Loving Memory

Larry M. Owens went to be with the Lord today, April 12, 2015 after a brave two year battle with lymphoma. Larry was first a faithful follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. He loved Jesus with all his heart!! He was an inspiring husband, father, friend, brother, son & life partner to his wife of 40 years, Bev. Larry loved encouraging everyone he met.  He served as a greeter for 10 years at Bay Community Church in Daphne and had a smile for everyone he met. He was an Auburn graduate in 1968, receiving his BA in Accounting. He retired from Mobile Infirmary Health System in 2012 to enjoy his life fully in beautiful Fairhope, Alabama. He loved freely & was devoted to God, family & serving others. His kindness & gentleness was felt by those who had the privilege of knowing him. Even though Larry was at heart a quiet, shy person, he loved people & was always glad to give a helping hand to anyone in need.  He will be missed by all of his family, friends, neighbors & his brothers & sisters in Christ at Christ United Methodist Church, Bay Community Church & 3 Circle Church.

Larry leaves behind his wife, Bev, son, Scott; sisters, Jeannette Ferguson, Julia Owens Moore, brother-in-law, Griffin Moore, brother-in-law, James R. Hardy, sister-in-law Marietta Jane Hardy, & many nieces and nephews, beloved relatives and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

 The visitation will be held at 3 Circle Church on April 14, 2015, at 1:00pm followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at 3 Circle Church in Fairhope. His burial will be at Jubilee Cemetery, in Daphne, Alabama.  Though the family welcomes flowers, the family suggests donations be made in lieu of, to The American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73123-1718 or at Expressions of condolence may be offered at Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home, 7951 American Way, Daphne, AL, 36526.
