John O. (Jack) Davis, Jr., age 85, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 7, 2010.
Mr. Davis was a Daphne resident for the past 21 years and was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He was born in Chile and retired as a general manager in the tobacco industry.
Survivors include his wife, Yara E. Davis of Daphne; 2 daughters, Elizabeth O. Davis of London, England and Monica Davis (Bob) Baker of Panama, Republic of Panama; 3 sons, James (Kerry) Davis of Riverside, CA, Christopher (Stephanie) Davis of New Orleans and Joseph O. Davis of Panama, Republic of Panama; a brother, Michael O. Davis of Fishgard, England and 8 grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 11:00 am at Christ the King Catholic Church with Fr. Matthew O’Connor as celebrant. A reception will follow in Assumption Hall.
Abiding by Mr. Davis’ wishes, his body was donated to the College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Myeloma Institute for Medical Research & Therapy at the University of Arkansas Medical Services, 4301 West Markham St., Slot 816, Little Rock, AR 72205-9985.
