Mobile, AL

John Curtis Wilson, Sr., 70, of Mobile died, Monday June 6, 2011 at a local healthcare facility. Mr. Wilson was born in Lucedale, MS and was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Mobile where he served as an usher, worked on the cooking team and had made mission trips to the Dominican Republic. John was a longtime member of the Azalea Lodge #870, F & AM, the Scottish Rite and the Abba Temple Shrine. He had coached youth league football and baseball at Mims Park and greatly enjoyed coaching his grandson, Justin with Corpus Christi CYO Football. John was also a member of a mystic society and served on the board of his homeowners association and served as a volunteer with the Mobile Botanical Gardens.

He retired with over 23 years service at CSX Railroad as a locomotive engineer and was an avid hunter, fisherman, certified beekeeper and citrus gardener. Most of all John was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas and Valeria Brannan Wilson and by a son, George Hite Wilson.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Georgia Hite Wilson of Mobile; 3 sons, John Curtis (Ramona Horton) Wilson, Jr.; Patrick Brannan (Lisa Yeater) Wilson and Robert Paterson “Bobby” Wilson, all of Mobile; 5 grandchildren, Justin Lee Wilson, Jessica Lynn Wilson, Lauren Anne Wilson, Julianne Rene
