Dorothy Louise Amos, 88, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2015 in Robertsdale. Dorothy worked in her church nursery for over 60 years, Robertsdale High School cafeteria for 32 years and helped at Camp Baldwin in the cafeteria. She loved to quilt and do embroidery. Dorothy loved spending time in her garden and generously gave away her vegetables. She never had a driver’s license and had only driven a car two times in her life. Dorothy loved and adored her family very much.She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Leon Amos and by her infant son.

She is survived by her daughter, Joan (Richard) McKibbon of Robertsdale, AL; sisters, Nealie Tomlinson of Mobile; Betty Carlson of Dothan; Bobbie Harrison of Robertsdale; grandson, Richard Lee (Lisa) McKibbon, Jr.; six great grandchildren, Mary-Ellen, Shelby, Adriana, Gage, Landon and Alyssa.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Robertsdale, 18200 Highway 104 W., Robertsdale, AL.  The family will receive friends at 9:00am. Rev. Jeff Copeland will be officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be offered to First Baptist Church of Robertsdale – Building Fund. Expressions of condolence may be made to www.hughesfh.com. Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home and Crematory, 7951 American Way, Daphne, AL 36526.

    I miss you so very much Granny. The 15 years that i knew you i thought you were the most amazing woman I’ve ever known. Papa was so lucky to have such a special wife. Gage misses you dearly and Papa too. He loved you two very much. I hope you and Papa are having the best time in Heaven and enjoying the life you two have in God’s beautiful place. I will see you again.. I will never forget you and you will always be in my heart. We Love you, Love Nina Wright and Gage McKibbon.
