Cynthia “Cindy” Whitlock Swanberg, 55, beloved mother of Christopher, gone too soon, departed this life for heavenly peace on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in Mobile, Alabama. She was born in Ghana, West Africa to the late Ronald and Gladys Whitlock. She returned to her home in Londonderry, N. Ireland as an infant and has been a resident of Mobile since 1968. Cindy loved the outdoors, tending to her vegetable garden and enjoyed sailing when she got the chance. She had a huge heart with a lot of friends and did so much for other people without thinking of herself. She will be terribly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Swanberg and her brother, Gerald Whitlock, both of whom also left us too soon.

She is also survived by her sister, Gloria (Everett) Mills and brother, Philip Whitlock both of Mobile, AL; brothers, David (Kathleen) Whitlock, Paul (Bernie) Whitlock and sister, Jacqueline (Tommy) Cumming of Londonderry, N. Ireland along with a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives in the USA and N. Ireland.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Mobile Memorial Gardens, 6100 Union Church Rd, Mobile, AL 36619. Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.hughesfh.com. Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home and Crematory, 7951 American Way, Daphne, AL 36526.
