Daphne, Alabama

Winnie B. Jones Adams, 93, a current resident of Daphne, Alabama, died Sunday, February 24, 2013. Mrs. Adams was born in Mize, Ms and graduated from Mize High School. She later lived in Jackson, Vicksburg and Terry, MS. In Jackson, Mrs. Adams and her late husband, Ellis, were charter members of Alta Woods Baptist Church.

Later in life she lived in Sulphur Springs, Texas with her son Greg and his family and then moved to Daphne to live with her daughter, Ellisha and her family.

Winnie was preceded in death by her parents, John Lemuel and Sally Byrd Jones and by her husband, Ellis Adams.

She is survived by her daughter,

Ellisha Adams Tabb (Mike) of Daphne, AL and her son, Greg Adams (Karon) of Sulphur Springs, TX. She has five grandchildren, Neal William R. Adams of Sulphur Springs and Cecily Suzanne Adams Chenault (Eric) of Fort Worth, TX; Angela Renee Lollis (John) of Ocean Springs, MS; Timothy Adam Tabb (Starla) of Spanish Fort, AL and Collin Tyler Tabb (Christian) of Daphne, AL; four great-grandchildren, Tyler Lollis, Hannah Lollis, Alexis Shivers and Lily Tabb and soon to be born, Ellis ‘Eli’ Tabb and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 at Mize United Methodist Church, Mize, MS with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 pm. Interment will follow in the Jones Family Cemetery, Mize, MS.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jones Family Cemetery, Gideon Bibles or Covenant Hospice, Daphne, AL.

    I had contact with Winnie while researching our mutual Jones family. I’m so sorry to learn of Winnie’s death. May God bless her soul and may she rest in peace. K. Jones (distant cousin)
