Tav G

Mobile, AL

William Tavenor “Tav” Goodloe, was born November 10, 1968, and left this world on Monday, March 23, 2015 following a lengthy illness. He fought hard to stay with us for as long as he could, and showed courage and strength to the very end. He died peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones. Tav was a native of Fairhope, AL and a longtime resident of Mobile, AL.  He graduated from Fairhope High School in 1987 and attended the University of Montevallo. He was well known and loved in the Service and Hospitality industry for his loyalty, his hardworking nature, his witty sense of humor, and his famous crawfish. He loved the water, enjoyed his “toys” and was able to travel extensively.

Tav was preceded in death by his dear mother and best friend, Marian Frisholm Powell, and his father, Edward G. Goodloe Jr. His surviving family include his loving companion, Christi Williams, as well as his brothers, Allen Brandon Powell of Fairhope AL, Jeffrey Goodloe of Chicago IL, Robert Goodloe of Waxhaw NC, Philip Goodloe of Cary NC, and Joseph Goodloe of Fayetteville NC. He will also be missed by his stepfather, Lowell Powell of Fairhope AL, his stepmother, Barbara Goodloe of Charlotte NC, his Aunt Joy Antonette of Fairhope AL, his two step-sisters, his nieces and nephews and many friends whom he considered his family. He had a grin for all whom he met, and touched everyone who knew him. He was loved by many, and will be greatly missed. His family would like to thank AseraCare of Mobile for their wonderful contribution to the end of Tav’s life here.

A Celebration of Life observance will be held in Tav’s honor on Saturday, April 11 from 4pm to 7pm at Café 615 in downtown Mobile, AL. Friends, family, and all who knew and loved him are welcome to attend.  Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.hughesfh.com.  Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home & Crematory, 7951 American Way, Daphne, AL  36526.
