Mr. Wayne Eugene Loch, a resident of Fairhope since 1986, died June 3, 2013, at his residence from COPD. Mr. Loch was born Dec 9, 1924 in Fairbury Nebraska, and graduated from the Fairbury High School. He attended the Yuba City, California, Junior College for one year. He then attended the University of Oklahoma under the V-1 and V-12 Navy programs and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, June 1945. He received a Commission in the U.S. Navy after completing Midshipman School at Columbia University, NYC. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in June 1946 with three years of active duty. He worked for the Oklahoma and Texas Highway Departments and for the U.S. Air Force Military Airlift Command at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. He retired in 1986 as Deputy Director, Operations and Maintenance, DCS Civil Engineering. He enjoyed retirement in Fairhope traveling, boating, playing poker with his buddies, and golfing at Quail Creek. Burial will be in the family plot in Lebanon, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his first wife Jean Hunter Loch, who died in 1976, sister Marian and brother Dennis.
Mr. Loch is survived by his second wife Betsy McKay Loch of Fairhope AL, and five children from the first marriage: Morgan and wife Karen of Greenwood SC; Mitchell of Pasadena, CA; Nancy of Galesburg IL; Wilson and wife Barbara of Granite City IL; and Corbitt of Edmunds WA; four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Other survivors are one brother, Robert of Custer WA, a brother-in-law Jerome Lenzen of, Lincoln NE and the wife of deceased brother Dennis, Lynda Loch of Covington WA.
