Robert Earl “Bobby” Sharp, age 60, a resident of Bay Minette, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2009 at a local hospital. He was born on May 26, 1948 in Bogalusa,

Louisiana to Rudolph and Hazel Sharp.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served

17 years achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant and earning the National Defense Service Medal,

Air Force Longevity Service Award and Air Force Commendation Medal. After leaving

military service, he was employed for 15-1/2 years as a truck driver for Standard Furniture

Company in Bay Minette.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Merideth Sharp; daughters, Tansy Sharp Ridings of Atlanta, GA,

Theresa G. Wolfe of Baton Rouge, LA, and Tami L. Kovar of Elsa, IL. Sons, Randall Sharp, of

Jacksonville, FL, Rodger D. Fontenot of Georgia, and Richard J. Fontenot of Bay Minette;

3 brothers, John Sharp, Glynn Sharp and Vernon Sharp, all of Bush, LA; 2 sisters, Lois LeBlanc of Bush, LA, and Selina Sharp Of Jefferson, LA; 8 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 12 noon, Friday, May 8, 2009 with a visitation beginning at 11:00am at Bromley Baptist Church on Hwy. 225 in Bay Minette. Burial will be at Sharp’s Chapel Cemetery, New Orleans, LA.

In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations be made to

the Bromley Baptist Church.
