In Loving Memory
April 18, 1977 – February 20, 2015
Kenneth “Kenny” Ian Mortensen, 37, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2015 in Mobile, AL. He was married to his loving wife, Melissa, for twelve years. Kenny was born in Fullerton , CA and was an avid Tennessee Vols and Chicago Bears fan. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard in the 187th Fighter Wing in Montgomery, AL. He served overseas as a tech seargent in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom during the Gulf War Era. He was retired from the Veteran’s Administration where he worked as a speech pathologist.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Melissa and his two daughters, Katelyn and Madelyn who will greatly miss their “Big Panda”; his mother, Evelyn Wilson; two sisters, Harlee and Heather Wilson; father in law, David (Sandra) Hoagland and mother in law, Gwen Hoagland; brother in law, Kevin (Meghan) Hoagland and two nephews, Ethan and Nolan Hoagland and his step brother in law, Matthew Armstrong.
Graveside services with full Military Honors and the Patriot Guard Riders will be at 10 am Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Doug Shelton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Playground Fund at Taylor-White Elementary School, 476 Eliza Jordan Road, Mobile, AL. The family appreciates and thanks everyone for their prayers and support given during this difficult time.
