John Joseph Salvia, 69, of Gulf Shores, AL died Wednesday, May 27, 2015 in a Mobile hospital. Mr. Salvia was born in Cambridge, MA and was a former resident of Birmingham where he had worked in the automotive sales business for twenty six years and after retirement, a few years in real estate. John was a Sergeant in the US Air Force serving in Korea. He had been a resident of Gulf Shores for the past eighteen years. His family knew him as the “best man there ever was” because he was such a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of forty six years, Diana J. Salvia; daughter, Sonja Salvia-Lopez of Gulf Shores; sons, Arthur (Christi) Vires of Springhill, TN and John C. “Chris” Salvia of Elkmont, AL; five grandchildren, John Daniel Lopez, Nicholas Vires, Santana Jewell Lopez, John Tyler Salvia and Noelle Dianne Vires and other relatives and friends.
Inurnment will be in the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery and the family will have a memorial celebration at a later time. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Michael J.
