November 7, 1924 – June 28, 2011 In Loving Memory.
Ila Mae Harris Cook, 86, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at home. She was a native and lifelong resident of Greensboro, AL until 2006, when she and Earnest relocated to Fairhope to be with Bobby and Emily. Mrs. Cook will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She married her best and closest friend, Earnest Lee Cook, when she was 16 years old and he was 15 and was married for 67 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Fannie Harris and her sister, LaVada Fikes. She is also predeceased by her husband, Earnst Lee Cook.
Surviving are her two sons, Dr. Rufus Cook, Taiwan and Bobby R. (Emily) Cook, Fairhope; her brother, Pete (Laura) Harris, Moundville, AL; a special beloved niece, Sue Ann (Kenny)Elliot, Greensboro, AL; grandchildren, Robin Epperson, Heather Cook, Dustin Cook, Brandon Cook, Aeril Cook and Colin Cook; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great- great grandaughter.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at New Hope Cemetery, Greensboro, AL.
Officiating will be Rev. Arthur Thomas & Rev. Ray Averette.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope Church Cemetery Fund.
