Howard Albert Green, 87, of Spanish Fort, and formerly of Dothan, AL, passed away, Wednesday, March 25, 2015 with his family by his side. He was a veteran of the US Army and the US Navy serving in the Korean War. Howard was an accomplished architect and in his later years, a practicing attorney serving with his son, Blake, on many cases and probate work. He loved serving his community through the Kiwanis Club of Houston County where he was a charter member, and also served as President. An active member of First Baptist Church of Dothan, he taught a Sunday School class for many years and assisted with other community ministries through the church. Howard is currently a member of Eastern Shore Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his son, Blake Alan Green.
Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Sue Mallory Green and his daughter, Lisa Green Blackmon (Earl), all of Spanish Fort, AL; six grandchildren, Mallory Blackmon Breed (David), Houston, TX; Blake Green (Megan) and Brent Green, all of Montgomery, AL; Nathan Blackmon, Nicole Blackmon and Claire Blackmon, of Spanish Fort, AL and one great grandchild, Rhea Green.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30am, Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Eastern Shore Baptist Church. The family will receive friends, beginning at 10:30 am. Officiating will be Rev. Stuart Davidson and Rev. John Anderson. Private interment will be at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be, Blake Green, Brent Green, Nathan Blackmon, David Breed, Kelley Penney and Mike Cady. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Fellowship Life Group at ESBC.
