May 5, 1931 – August 13, 2008 In Loving Memory.
Eulalie (Lee) Gonzales Murphy, born May 5, 1931 in Mobile, died at home on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 after a valiant battle with cancer.

Mrs. Murphy was a resident of Daphne for over 19 years. She attended Murphy High School and graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Spanish. Lee was queen of the Mystics of Time Mardi Gras organization in 1952. She loved gardening, line dancing, bunnies and decorating her house for holidays, her Sip N Sew group and her bridge friends on the Eastern Shore. Lee was a member of Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church and helped with Vacation Bible School. She also served as a volunteer at Christ the King library and the Friends of the Daphne Library. She was a member of the Welcome Wagon and the Baldwin Senior Travelers. Lee loved to travel, take walks in Daphne and cook her specialties for her family.

Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Ella Mae Gonzales, her sister, Jean G. DeKeyser, and her husbands, Michael Thomas Murphy and John Andrew Murphy. She is survived by her children, Monde (Bill) Donaldson of Spanish Fort, Michael Thomas Murphy of Mobile, Patricia (Joe) Sampson of Honolulu, HI and Jan Murphy of Asheville, NC; her grandchildren, Drew Donaldson of Daphne, Logan Donaldson and Shannon Donaldson of Spanish Fort, Erin Murphy of Mobile and Matt Sampson and Stephen Sampson of Honolulu, HI; a sister, Ann G. Nelson of San Antonio, TX and a special friend, Wade Reeves of Spanish Fort.

A memorial service will be held at 5 PM on Friday, August 15, 2008 at the Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church with Dr. Julian Walthall officiating. Visitation will begin at 3:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Nature Conservancy of Alabama, 257-A St. Francis St., Mobile, AL 36602 or to the American Cancer Society, 19059 Greeno Rd., Fairhope, AL 36532.
