In Loving Memory
March 30, 1944 – May 9, 2014
Carol L. Clark, age 70, a resident of Dauphin Island, AL and formerly of Birmingham, died, May 9, 2014. Carol was a Registered Nurse for many years. She owned and operated Dauphin House Bed and Breakfast on Dauphin Island and she was always helping others. Carol was a loving wife and mother.
She is survived by her husband, George W. Clark of Dauphin Island; son, Lloyd Lane (Deena) of Dallas, GA; daughter, Anne Lane of Stone Mountain, GA; mother, Maylene Littlefield of Birmingham, AL; three brothers, Earl Littlefield (Marie) of Alabaster, Ernie Littlefield (Jan) of Anniston, Gerald (Sara) Littlefield of Florida; two grandchildren, Daniel Pitts and Nigel Lane, other family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 9:30am on May 24, 2014 at the Dauphin Island Methodist Church on Dauphin Island. Rev. Cecil Jackson will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to United Methodist Children’s Home, 3140 Zelda Ct., Montgomery, AL 36106.

Carol was always a vibrant and fun companion. She never looked back, always forward. We will miss her.
I worked with Carol and the Partners of the Americas in Guatemala during the 1970s. She was fearless
and went extra miles in helping those in need. I drove with Carol in an ambulance one night when she was working with the Guatemalan Red Cross. We had to be somewhere fast and she drove though a military checkpoint without stopping. I got on the floor expecting bullets to fly into the cab. Carol said “don’t worry they won’t shoot at an ambulance”. They did’nt and we got where we needed to go on time.
Our Guatemala counterparts loved Carol for her dedication, compassion and fearlessness.
Caroline and I want to express our heartfelt sympathy to George and their families at this time. Our friendship grew from the time of Hurricane Ivan when we built our first house on Dauphin Island in 2004 along with Allison helping to clean up Dauphin House. We spent many a day and night at Dauphin House Bed and Breakfast at that time and again when we lost our house to Hurricane Katrina. I remember spending the night before Katrina I stayed at Dauphin House to take care of FOX News when they arrived. As we rebuilt, we spent time with Carol and George at Dauphin House and after rebuilding many evenings at our new house. There were many fun times over the years and we will miss her. We wish George and all family well during this time of sorrow.
I considered Carol a good friend even though I had not seen her for the past three years. She was the best cook and always fun to be around. She will be missed. Lynn
