  9. Ann Brown

On Behalf of the Pettaway/Brown Family, our deepest sympathy on the recent passing of our beloved Bertie. She will always be remembered as someone with a “warm heart” and “big smile”. My brother and I have fond memories of running up/down Ingleside at a young age with Bertie and her sister Bridgett.

As the days, weeks and months fly by, and you return to life’s routine, may you continued to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

I pray all the “happy” memories of her life will take the place of the pain and sorrow you all feel now.May your hearts be filled with fond memories as you celebrate a life well lived.

Again, please accept our sincere condolences of the loss of your dear Bertie. I know she fought a brave fight.

God Bless her and all of you at this very difficult time of sorrow.

    Ann Brown-Pettaway and Family.

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
    1 John 3:2 (KJV)

My dear friend, enjoy your eternal peace in the presence of the Most High God,Jesus

  14. Melissa Pershina

Bertie was such a loving, gentle soul. She was a Helping Mom in my kindergarten classroom and always looked for ways to be of service, accompanying us on class trips, sending supplies, etc. Several times, she “overpaid” for Julius’s field trips to make up for children who didn’t pay. Once, when we were touring the newly upgraded Thomas Hospital and passed a designer-appointed waiting room that looked like a mansion parlor, Julius said wistfully “What a pretty room! I wish Mama could live here and I could live in the playroom upstairs”. I was so touched to hear such a considerate remark from a five-year old. What a special mother to inspire such devotion! She will now have the Glorious Mansion she deserves.

  15. Cynthia Buggs

To the Dacus-Mitchell family from your friends in (Lake Ivanhoe) Wisconsin. We were shocked to hear the news that Birtie had passed away and we are thinking of you and praying for you during this difficult time. Take care of one another and know that Birtie was loved by us all. We have so many great memories of Birtie and we are going to miss her laugh the most. Love, Carolyn-Gwen-Romero-Cynthia-Ericka-Kenya
