Daphne, AL

Barbara Ann Williams, 72, born in Memphis, TN, passed away at home on Monday, June 3, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Williams graduated from North Texas State University and was an elementary school teacher in her early years but had been a homemaker as an Army wife for 20 years and was especially engaged in the church and community since moving to Daphne 27 years ago. She was active in Bible Study Fellowship for many years as well as in many areas in the Spanish Fort United Methodist Church. She loved her family, reading books, physical fitness and her pets.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Mike Williams; their sons, Matthew (Lynn) Williams of Daphne and Patrick Williams of Seattle, WA; three grandchildren, Lucy, Duncan and Charlotte, and her dog ‘Bertie’, as well as many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Spanish Fort United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Hale and Rev. Bill Price officiating. Inurnment will be in Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Covenant Hospice of Daphne, Cure Alzheimer’s Fund or the American Diabetes Assn.
