Albert “Rudy” Nettles, 67, a native of Monroe County, AL, died peacefully on Monday, July 9, 2012. Rudy was raised in Peterman, AL and was a long time resident of Mobile. He graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He was an Alabama State registered Professional Engineer and was employed by International Paper, working 33 years in Power Technology and the Mobile Mill.

Rudy was a talented engineer and an accomplished “jack of all trades.” He took great pleasure in using his creative talents for both his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of projects completed and knowledge shared. He loved his family and was much loved in return. Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, Erskine and Alice Nettles, and his beloved brother, George “Sonny” Nettles. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 41 years, Anne Hendrix Nettles; daughter, Jennifer Nettles Crenshaw (Timothy), son Bryan Heath Nettles (Laura), all of Mobile. Rudy was the proud “Pop” to Margaret Anne Nettles, Michael McInnis Nettles, William Bryan Nettles, Madeline Alice Crenshaw, Gabriel Alexander Crenshaw, Adrianna Lee Crenshaw and Morgan Nicole Crenshaw.

A memorial mass to celebrate Rudy’s life will be held at Our Savior Catholic Church, 1801 S.Cody Rd.,in Mobile, Friday, July 13, 2012. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00pm with mass immediately following. Burial will be in Rumbley Cemetery in Peterman, AL on Saturday, July 14 at 2:00pm.
