In Loving Memory
Fairhope, AL
Ack Williams Moore, Sr. 85 of Fairhope, Al. died, June 30th 2014. He was the son of Byrd Moore Jr. and Myrtle Williams. He passed on at his Bay home of 52 years, in Montrose Alabama. He is survived by his wife Nancy Wilson Moore , his brother Byrd Moore, lll, his sons Ack Moore, Jr. and Seth Moore and his wife Rebecca Faust. Grandchildren, Caleb, Blake , Lauren and Caitlin Moore. Great grandchildren, James Sudduth, and June Bannister; Keller and Collin Moore, his precious dog, Buddy and many other family members.
In his younger years, his family moved around the southeast where he and his brother fished and hunted many a summer day. They sailed on Biscayne Bay and searched for arrowheads in the fields around Auburn. He served as a Captain in the Air Force and graduated in engineering from Auburn University. He was president of the ATO fraternity.
His father moved the family engineering business to Fairhope in 1957. He was a civil engineer during Baldwin County’s rapid growth and was responsible for the design of many engineering projects such as, water and sewer systems, the W. C. Majors Football Stadium and the Fairhope Municipal Pier.
Beyond his engineering accomplishments he shared his love with all. He excelled as an artist and gave away many of his paintings for all to enjoy. He loved to travel with friends and had many adventures all over the world, but he always loved to come home and sit in his front yard, a place he called Eden.
He was a life long Episcopalian at St. James and St. Pauls Episcopal Church, where he was an active member of each. He was a member of the Fairhope Rotary.
A life well-lived, his influence in the growth of Baldwin County, his love for family, art, and his church. The ripple effect of this love will never die.

Always a great guy to deal with-truly a “Southern Gentleman”.
My deepest condolences go out to the family of Mr. Ack Sr. I had the privilege of working for him a few years back and feel truly honored to have known such an incredible, carefree and generous man. I will forever keep those happy memories of him with me. Unfortunately I will be out of town for the service but wish to send my sympathies. May God bless his family in this time of loss.
We are so sorry to hear of Ack Sr.’s passing. He was always such a loving, thoughtful gentleman and a joy to be around. We would like to offer our sincere condolences.
My sincere sympathy to Ack and Seth during this emotional loss. I have known the family ever since I can remember and Mr. Moore always embraces us as his own children. The family is certainly in my thoughts and prayers.
My sympathy to the entire Moore family. As former owner of WABF , a former member of the Fairhope Rotary Club and present member of the City of Fairhope Planning Commission I had many opportunities to interact with Ack. I will always remember his cheerful, upbeat attitude toward life. He was a great example of a true “southern gentleman” Ack…..we”ll miss you.
We are so saddened to learn of Ack’s passing away.
Ack was my ATO Fraternity Brother and roommate for a while at Auburn (API). Earl Darby, Ack and I did the Arrowhead hunting in Lee County. After my graduation in June 1954, Ack and I “palled around” in Fairhope, and in the process he arranged a double-date for me with Margaret Smith. Margaret and I were married the following March. We wish to extend our condolences to Nancy and family.
Margaret and I send our sincere condolences.
Ack and Seth,
My deepest sympathy to you and your families.
Ben
I was googling Seth this morning (I worked at Moore Surveying 1993-1994) and came across the news of his father’s passing. I believe I did some field work on several of Ack’s projects and he was a pleasure to work with. We will grieve as those do that have a hope and know that this is not the end! I pray peace to friends and family during this trying time.
