In Loving Memory

Roland Eugene Blais, age 50, born in Mobile and a resident of Daphne, died Saturday, September 20, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Roland was a retired Merchant Marine Seaman and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus member and member of the Thursday 6am Cursillo group in Daphne. He enjoyed making rosaries and gave them to his family and many parishioners at Christ the King.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents, George H. Sr. and Marie Louise Blais.
Survivors include his wife Kathleen Blais; son, David (Meena) Outlaw of Sugar Land, TX; daughters, Linor (William) Thomas of Quitman, AR and Amanda Outlaw of Daphne; brother, George H. (Sharon) Blais, Jr. of Bay Minette; and his sister, Penny Blais of Knoxville, TN. He also has seven grandchildren, James Edward, Kathryn Elizabeth, Kristina Elise, Jasmine, Miles, Gracie and Jamie.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 711 College Ave. in Daphne. Interment will be in Belforest Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the burial in the parish hall. Memorials in Roland’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society. Roland touched me and the other employees at Wilson’s in such a special way. I pray for the entire family. Roland was a strong and kind man. I pray for God’s comfort – it gives me peace to know Roland is not in pain or suffering. He is in a place where there is no more pain. And he my dad are laughing about old times. Roland I know you will be missed so much by all your family and friends. But know that you inspired so many. God Bless
